Job Summary
Join Apple's Internet Applications Team, within the Information Systems and Technology group, as a Senior Software Engineer for Gift Card Systems. Be involved in challenging and fast paced projects supporting Apple's business by delivering Java based IS Systems.
Key Qualifications
- Prior experience in system architecture and system solutions to business requirement is essential
- Application development and design experience delivering real world client/server applications using structured or object-oriented methodologies.
- Strong programming skills - object oriented design and analysis skills
- Strong Java and RDBMS (Oracle/MySQL) skills
- Experience working on WebServices / SOAP / REST / JSON
- Experience working on / thorough understanding of Scala, Akka, Play, Kafka
- Experience with Eclipse, XML, SVN, Maven, UML, scripting
- Experience on UNIX, Linux platform
- Experience with subversion, GIT - branching, and merging
- Experience with ant, and maven and integration with continuous integration systems
- Experience with deployment tools like puppet, for large scale systems
- Experience with Load/Performance Testing
- Experience with / understanding of noSQL preferred
- Experience with Message queues
- Experience with subversion - branching, and merging
- Experience in developing highly scalable, and high performance distributed systems
- Experience with highly available systems
- Strong ability and enthusiasm to learn new technologies in a short time
- Must have good oral/written communication skills for evaluation and feasibility study of new technologies
Description
Work with project managers and technical teams, in a cross-functional environment, to implement and deploy quality products that meet the business goals. Ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the full lifecycle development process including understanding business and functional requirements, developing detailed technical designs, and implementing testable solutions. The candidate is expected to be self- motivated, pro-active and solution-oriented individual.
Education
BS degree in computer science or equivalent field plus 5-7 years or MS degree plus 3-5 years experience, or equivalent
