Facebook is looking for talented and experienced development lead to join GSS Insights team in Hyderabad, India. Our team provides scaled insights for facebook advertisers globally, and partners with key stakeholders in Facebook including sales, enterprise BI, engineering, IT, Infra and products teams. Successful candidates will have strong technical experience in building medium-to-large enterprise applications and demonstrated progression in leading a small team of engineers. You have kept your coding skills sharp and will bring an unwavering passion for managing the dynamics of a fast-paced environment and for finding innovative, end-to-end engineering solutions to complex business problems. The role is a full-time position, based in Hyderabad, India.
Responsibilities
- Be a combination of a highly technical hands-on software engineer and an effective mentor to a small team of developers
- Hands-on coding for >50% of the time
- Partnering with internal stakeholders in understanding business requirements, working with cross-functional data and products teams and building efficient and scalable solutions
- Design and develop front-end interfaces and backend systems using multiple programming languages with primary focus on Python, PHP, JS and SQL
- Hold your own in technical discussions, be a subject matter expert, and have strategic influence
- Conduct design and code reviews
- Coach and lead team members on coding and problem-solving skills
- Lead multiple projects and contribute in determining the direction of the team
- Encourage a data-driven culture to improve the efficiency, scalability, stability and security of our in-house systems
Requirements
- BS/B.Tech./M.Tech in Computer Science or related field with 7+ years of relevant work experience
- 5+ years experience building software solutions in an enterprise or start up engineering environment using Python, PHP and JS
- Proficient in writing efficient and advanced level SQL queries, dimensional data modeling and schema design
- Experience in developing medium-to-large, multi-tiered web applications a big plus
- Experience in developing business applications (sales, marketing, recruiting, advertising, etc.) a big plus
- Working knowledge of API design and distributed backend systems a plus
- Proficiency in working on Unix/Linux environment
- Proven experience in leading data driven projects from definition through interpretation and execution
- Excellent communication skills including experience speaking to a technical and business audiences
- Ability to write well-abstracted, reusable code components
